The new patriotic dessert we are going to make here are simple cookie balls essentially. You just need a food processor to smooth the 2 ingredients together into a smooth mixture. Let the kids roll into balls and coat in melted chocolate. Sprinkles on top bring whatever color you want to be featured. Mini chocolate chips works too.
Red white and blue chocolate cookie balls are our favorite this time of year too though. In a bowl paired with ice cream is a cheap treat you can serve at your 4th of July party for Independence day. Goes great on your dessert charcuterie board with fresh berries in those colors, chocolate covered cherries with the same sprinkles and more.

3 Ingredient Oreo Dessert No Bake
Red, white, and blue foods are a popular choice for patriotic holidays such as the 4th of July. Here are some examples of red, white, and blue foods:
- Strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream: This classic combination is a simple and delicious way to showcase the colors to make a cute American flag sheet cake.
- Just use cake mix to make a cake as directed.
- Then use Cool Whip for frosting and lay strawberries as stripes while blue berries can be used for the stars. Super simple but impressive.
- Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and blueberries: The deep red color of the cake contrasts beautifully with the white frosting and the pop of blue from the berries.
- Caprese salad: This Italian dish features red tomatoes, white mozzarella cheese, and green basil, but can easily be modified by adding blueberries or blue cheese to make it more patriotic.
- Patriotic fruit skewers: Thread strawberries, bananas, and blueberries onto skewers for a healthy and colorful snack.
- Blue corn chips with salsa and sour cream: The blue chips add a fun twist to this classic snack, and the red salsa and white sour cream complete the patriotic theme.
- Red, white, and blue popsicles: Mix together strawberry puree, coconut milk, and blueberry puree to create layered popsicles that are both refreshing and festive.
- Berry and yogurt parfait: Layer Greek yogurt with red raspberries, white yogurt, and blueberries for a nutritious and delicious breakfast or dessert.

You really can think outside of the box when it comes to a Fourth of July celebration of sorts. Anything you love can be tweaked to include the 3 main colors. You can color whipped topping, frosting on top of ramekin cakes. Even condiments such as mayonnaise can be made blue with ketchup and then keep some white for the 3 colors.
Easy Oreo Truffle Recipe
We have an original sweet featured here you can follow and make with your kiddos. In fact you can create these for any sort of holiday you might have in front of you. For Valentine’s Day just use red and pink sprinkles and make the rest the same exact way. Done! Halloween uses orange and black. I mean they should be included in all party prep from here on out. 😉
- Prepare a baking sheet with waxed paper. Place the cookies into a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
- Cut the cream cheese into chunks and add the cream cheese to the food processor. Pulse until the mixture is well blended and forms a large ball.
- Use a small cookie scoop, portion the cookie dough into 1-inch balls and roll into a smooth ball.
- For best results, freeze the balls prior to decorating. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate and tap to remove the excess chocolate.
- Place the cookie ball on the prepared cookie sheet and immediately decorate with sprinkles.
- Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until firm.
Once they have firmed up you can set them on a platter and they should remain in tact. I would keep them inside though as if the temperature rises they are likely to begin melting for sure. Another way to keep them cool is to set the plate inside a bowl that is filled with ice. Make sure the plate sits flat so it doesn’t sink into the water.
